Fathers' Day

To my darling Husband,
you have always been a good father to our daughter, loving and protecting her. I remember this day so clearly. We were at the Auckland Museum and she was so afraid to walk down the steep marble staircase and you took her by the hand and assurred her that you wouldn't let her fall. From that day on she knew you will always be there to protect her.

You have set the example and the standard of the kind of man she will want in her life and I thank you for that. Happy Fathers Day my darling.

Love
Your Wife & Daughter xx

In My Garden - Appreciate your sense of smell

Such beauty we find in a garden and yet to some they suffer from allergies, sneezing with just a wiff from the smell of a flower and it's pollens. My daughter has that problem, but she loves the sight of flowers and their bright and vibrant colours. And yet for some of those who do not suffer from these allergies take for granted of how fortunate they are, to be able to hold a flower right up to their nose and smell the fragrance a flower possesses. Take the time to smell a flower and appreciate your sense of smell.

My very first Night Time Photo Shoot

These photos were taken tonight by myself and I am so please with my first attempts with my Night Time Photo Shoot. I am gradually getting used to my new camera and loving it, I just got to get used to my tripod...hahahaha!!. I'm giving myself a pat on the back for good effort.

It was a beautiful calm night and the Park Lights were full on, taken exactly to how I saw it with my own eyes. So glad to have captured this moment in time.

Had a couple of people stop to ask why I was taking photos at night when there's no sunlight and when showing them on the LCD screne they were amazed how clear as day the photo came out to be.

This one is my favourite, the park lights in the distance caught my attention and I wondered to see if the camera would capture the lighting from that distance and it did with a little adjustments to the camera settings and voila.

I absolutely love the captured water flow in this shot.

Visited Gold Coast - Hinze Dam

These photos were taken after our visit to the Hinze Dam. There are Regional Parks down from the Hinze Dam visitors centre, fully equipped with barbeque tables, BBQ cookers, toilets and benches. Definately a MUST visit after your walk along the Dam with a packed picnic.

We found a birds nest on a low bush tree

We were definately in his territory but he didn't mind

These two love birds were funny, chasing each other all over the place

I love taking photos of Trees, I think they are my most favourite subjects, I wonder Why?

We took a road trip out Hinze Dam today and it was beautiful as always. It had been undergoing construction and so it was finally open to the Public again. We've had a couple of dry weeks with no rain on the Gold Coast, but it was good to see the Dam full with life and WATER!!. Then Mereani saw a speed boat going past and said "Mum, diesel and petrol powered boats aren't allowed in the Dam"...ok she's definately going to be an abiding citizen of the Law...hehehehe!!

Such a beautiful place and a must visit if you ever visit the Gold Coast!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

My Aunty Maria Rose Eli and daughter Lilian Weiland (Kaina)

My Granduncle Tuaine Tumu and his Samoan Queen Tina

I was taking everyone on my facebook for a trip down memory lane and these were a few of the photos I had uploaded. It was great sharing a few of the photos I have. One person replied and said that photos mean so much more than spoken words. It's harder to describe someone in detail to a person who has never seen someone, unless you're so good a being descriptive, go for gold. But a photo says it all, a still picture tells you that persons lifetime. It was nice to share and bring a smile and tear to others faces.

Gracey's Photo Shoot

Did a Photo Shoot of this absolute GEM! of a darling, she is so cute and full of Life! 15 months old with the cutest facial expressions and cheeky smiles. Loved working with you little Gracey, you and Mummy were troopers.

My Business Card

I scored a really great deal today when logging in to check my emails with Vistaprint.com, 250 business cards for FREE! and only pay for the post and package. But yeah this is what I designed and am happy with it. The photo is of my daughter, I know most people would never put their children on their business cards, but as for me, she's the reason why I'm doing this, she's my muse and my inspiration for pushing myself. So now I'm just waiting for my cards to arrive, I cannot wait.

In My Garden

It was the perfect conditions for taking photos outside today, nice and cloudy so I don't have to fight with too much sunlight and shadows etc. Its August on the Gold Coast and my Birds of Paradise are blooming at this time of the year. They are trully beautiful and vibrant. It was nice to see that the ants also came out to play.

Auckland Zoo Animals

Can you the see the Kiwi?

My daughter Mereani's ZOOLANDER FACE!!

When my daughter was 3 years old she attended Favona Kindergarten in South Auckland and she absolutely love her time there. She had great teachers and made heaps of new friends. She always looked forward to going, even though it was only for 3 hours each day from Monday to Friday, but that was sufficient time for both Mummy and daughter to be apart. Well she was very fortunate that the Kindergarten Co-ordinator organised an excursion to the Auckland Zoo, my daughter was so excited. It would've been her 4th time to the Zoo as we have taken her before. So by the time we got there, she knew her way around the joint. All the kids had a great time that day.
